I began modeling while living in San Francisco.  I was working for an infamous lesbian sex
magazine called On Our Backs.  I was simply doing editorial work there.  Another magazine
called Girlfriends is published out of the same offices and they were casting models for a fashion
shoot but were short one gal.  Before I knew it, all eyes were on me!  The editorial staff
volunteered me for the job and before I had a chance to blink, I was in the makeup chair being
transformed by the most darling makeup artist ever, Tiagi Lambert, while she regaled with tales
of others she had worked on, girls with last names like Campbell and Crawford.  Needless, to
say it was a great experience and the pictures were fabulous.  The images ran as a photo spread
but were also used on posters and postcards.

After that experience, I began contacting San Francisco based photographers through the
internet and went on to pose for folks like Danielle Bedics, Dave DeLuxe and Adam Cohen.
I've since moved down to Los Angeles which I much prefer as opposed to San Francisco.
There's nothing like palm trees, hot weather, and modern architecture.  Since moving down
here, I've collaborated on a variety of projects with photographers like Geoff Cordner,
Christine Kessler, and Octavio Arizala.  Though I do like the neo-traditional pin-up style
photography, I also enjoy photographers who aren't afraid to deviate from tradition and go out
on a limb.  I am Mexican-American and I like infusing my photographs with a sense of kitschy
pride in my ethnic and cultural roots.  In the near future, I may be collaborating with Persephone
to film a short homage to the Mexican B horror films of our childhoods.  If you're a fan of
Mexican glamour and cinema, stay tuned!

As far as being selected as the pin up muse of the year, I am happy simply to have even been
considered and to be held among the ranks of models who I think are heart achingly beautiful!  I
know that I don't have a classic American beauty that is idealized by pin up but I think that my
different sort of "exotic" looks bring a new flavor to pin up. Thanks!
